Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. ~ Melody Beattie

Gratitude is a Power Tool that fuels my life. I can only imagine how bleak my life would seem without it. I put on my Gratitude Glasses and voila, my life is transformed. Yet nothing Out There has changed at all … it is me … my point of view … where I am looking from … how I am framing the moment … my attitude and my altitude.

Sometimes life just is the way it is and there is nothing we can do to make it otherwise. Such as the approaching winter that is coming to us up north. We can settle in, settle down, pull out the warm blankets and make soup, and none of that will change what is here or what is coming. It will be cold. It will be dark. It will be winter.

Our power comes from how we are in relationship with anything, including ourselves. I find that gratitude is a way for me to be in loving relationship with myself and has transformed my life into a life I can look back upon and say, regardless of my circumstances, this has been a good life and I am grateful. It also empowers me to look forward to all that is before me knowing that my gratitude will support me, shape me, and welcome goodness into my life.

What about you. With Thanksgiving upon us, are you willing to take the transformative power of gratitude, and within a breath or two change your experience of your life? All it takes is asking some wonder questions such as:

  • How has this been a blessing?
  • How has this served me?
  • What do I have that I am grateful for that may not have occurred if I hadn’t endured this rough spot?
  • What have I learned from my challenges?

I trust you can come up with your own wonder questions.

Gratitude might be good food to eat at the holiday table, or in private retreat with yourself. No matter, gratitude is a nourishing way to harvest the blessings that already are in our lives.

Blessings and Peace,
