A Treasure Map!

“When our inner vision opens, our horizons expand.”

In a recent newsletter I suggested you create a Living Vision. This week I’m encouraging you to make your vision even MORE powerful.
Over the next few weeks, begin to look in magazines, on line, junk mail, wherever you find them, for images that represent your Living Vision. Cut them out, download them and put them in a pile or a folder. Also capture words or phrases that hold the energy of what you really want.
The emphasis is on creating your heart’s desire, not picturing stuff to be acquired. Do your best to capture the essence of the experience you are looking for. During this phase your job is to collect photos and phrases that represent your deepest wants.
Sort through what you have gathered with the intention of keeping only those images and words that represent your innermost desires. Put away, for another time, those that do not.
Use your heart’s criteria as you make your selections. For me, I feel an excitement in my body and a smile in my chest. This tells me I am on course with what my heart wants, versus my mind.
You are now ready to assemble your collage, which will be your Treasure Map. You will need something to paste your pictures onto. You can select any size poster board you feel comfortable using. As I have become more facile on my computer, I’ve learned to make digital collages.
Begin to arrange your images and words on your medium. Play with this. Make sure it feels right. This is an intuitive process. Allow this process to unfold in its own way. Allow your creative self to be in charge. Trust yourself to know when your collage is laid out the way you want.
If you are using paper, glue your images and words to the paper the way you have laid them out. Have on your treasure map/vision board the words, “This or Something Greater for the Highest Good of All Concerned.”
When you are done, step back and look at what you have created. Allow yourself to wonder what you are saying to yourself. You will probably see things that were not visible to you before.
- What does your treasure map/vision board say?
- What surprises does it have for you?
Take time to write down your impressions. Let your left brain (verbal) articulate what the right brain (art) has expressed.
Don’t spend any time thinking about the ‘how’ of making this dream a reality. Right now you are allowing yourself to discover your ‘what’.
You have just designed a visual affirmation, or prayer, describing your heart’s desire.
- Embrace what you want.
- Say yes to your desire.
- Choose to allow yourself to have it.
- Commit to doing whatever it takes to make what you want happen.
The more you look at your treasure map/vision board the more you reinforce in your imagination what you want. By doing so you trigger your creativity in designing actions that will manifest your vision.
The subconscious mind responds to pictures, images, and feelings, so look at your vision board often to unlock the power of subconscious thinking. Listen within to your intuition guiding you. You will be led to those actions that will make your dreams a reality.
Blessings and Joy,
